Kate Morphew graduated with a B.A. in Fine Art from Trent
Polytechnic in 1987. Influenced by American abstract expressionists
such as Mark Rothko, Turner, and Kurt Jackson and John
Piper.
Subject matter ranges from still lives to
seascapes and landscapes, with the ocassional figurative
piece. Her paintings, drawings, monoprints and mixed nedia
works sit at varying points on the line between abstraction
and reality, with each work determining working method.
She currently lives in Nailsworth, near
Stroud, Gloucestershire, where the beauty of the surrounding
Cotswolds and Severn Vale are a constant source of inspiration.
Kate holds exhibitions from time to time, though is happy
to welcome any enquiries about completed works, or commissions.
